In the past few weeks....

Well, my sweet husband is off to work at the toe curling hour of 5am...This morning when he came to kiss me good bye, for some unknown reason I could not go back to sleep. So I thought I would update the blog as to what we've been up to for the last couple of weeks...We have been out in the yard A LOT! Trying to get the garden ready for winter and pulling countless weeds. We planted giant pumpkins this year which was fun. I will post a picture of them closer to Halloween. I posted a picture of some of my dahlias, they were Huge! These white ones were 10" across! We have a lot of fun spending time together outside, now if we could just teach Klare to stay out of the street! She delights in giving her mother coronaries. Kennedi had her first day of pre-school and she LOVES it. She is very socially wise and very thoughtful of others, and is of course loving making lots of new friends.
The picture I posted is of her getting home on the first day, trying to show me what she had made. (we carpool.) Little Klare is truly talking up a storm! She won't be 2 for 2 more months, and she is already putting 4 words together! "i lub you mommo." She is soo much fun! Even more fun is how different she and Kennedi are. Kennedi can't even drink soda because, "It's tooo spicy!" We're talking sprite here...and is as cautious as we have trained her to be, which is quite extreme. Klare, on the other hand, love's soda, (Karlin has to hide his root beer from her!) loves chips and MEDIUM salsa, and throws caution to the wind, despite all efforts to teach her other wise. She is not easily intimidated. In fact, the only consequence that she has received, for her life threatening behavior, that effects her at all is a simple time out, in her crib, because it restricts from doing exactly what it is that she wants to do. A soft pat on the bum for Kennedi was all it took to let her know that we meant business. The same soft pat for Klare only induces a strange look that indicates her thought of..."Was that supposed to hurt?" They compliment each other beautifully, and are, at this time, meeting every need for joy and gratification that I could dream of as a mother. The picture I posted of Klare is a rare one of her sacked out with her stick horse, Sally. Life is great and we hope all of you are doing well!

You're such a cool mom. I just wanted to let you know that Lisa and I have learned a lot from watching you and Karlin parent your children. I think Klare and Vanessa share the same daring spirit. Family get-togethers will be interesting later.
