Karlin and I always make fun of the media for dramatizing EVERYTHING! There is always some extreme title for the newscast,"WINTER BLAST 2006!!!" This is even when whatever they are reporting is something that happens every day. For this cause, we did not expect to lose power for three days, or to have over 10 trees fall on our 3 block street alone. Holy Cow! That was the strongest wind I can ever remember hearing and FEELING as it shook our house! We were very blessed and protected, Karlin had removed the two biggest and weakest trees from our back yard and we are sooo grateful. Although being with out power was a unexpected, we had so much fun with the kids with out any distractions. The phones were out, no Internet, no TV....IT WAS AWESOME! Plus, Karlin was home from work keeping our fire going and entertaining all of us with his trusty head-lamp which he would not take off. The picture I posted is of him and the girls dancing in the dark to Christmas music coming from our emergency radio. Thanks to our mothers who took us in on Sunday, when we woke up in a house that was literally 40 degrees. Brrr! We could see our breath when we went back into the bedrooms. We are warm and brite now, and pray for those who are STILL waiting for power to be restored.

Glad you guys are ok--we heard about the storm clear over here in England!
Our girls love losing power. (Granted our power was only out for 24 hours.) I totally agree that it is awesome to have no distractions and be able to just enjoy each other! LOL, about the headlamp-- I totally understand that one!
That is such a sweet picture.
