March in a nutshell...okay, a REALLY BIG shell.

This month has been incredibly busy. We started the month with my first activity as the ward activity chair. The progressive dinner involved more phone calls in one week than I typically have in 6 months. It also provided the opportunity to go to places like Cash-n-Carry....I must be a real women now! Karlin bought me a Sam's club membership out of the deal, which I already love and am sure I will use for many future activities. I am now an official warehouse warrior! The following day was spent at Brent and Belinda's (Karlin's sister) helping with a remodel. While there, Kennedi choked on a piece of cantaloupe. She was immediately blue and could not breath. After whacking her on the back, I had to preform the Heimlich maneuver. I honestly had the thought in those seconds that I was going to lose her. Soooo scary. When she finally started to breath again, I broke down into a massive sob. I had to hold her for a while and the shaking was just beginning to subside when.....Klare fell down an entire oak staircase. When I got to the bottom, repeat the above reaction, and then we went home.....what weekend.
The next week, Whitney moved in. Her mom had to go home to Vietnam because her own mother was very ill. So Whitney is with us for 2 1/2 weeks. Her birthday was that Friday, Karlin had a camp out, so I loaded up the girls for a sleepover/chucky cheese party with G & G Brown. We had a blast, but had to hurry home for my real induction into woman hood.....A STAKE RELIEF SOCIETY DINNER...dun dun dun! Okay, so here I am, the naive little private asked to serve with a group of about ten veteran/generals to plan, purchase, and prepare a dinner for 300 women. Being the private, I am assigned the drinks. Knowing full well that I being given an opportunity to prove myself, I suggest something new and fun...Shirley Temples! Now that I know my way around Cash-n-Carry, I know just where to get the supplies. So I rush home from Olympia, give my hubby a quick kiss, and I am off to be unknowingly hazed at the stake center. I am given half the kitchen to organize some sort of system to add one cherry, then exactly 1 tbls. syrup, then one cup ice, then fill with 7up....which "has to be done last minute so it won't lose it's fizz" 300 times. As I worked furiously to prove I could be trusted with such a valuable task, women who are waaaaayyy to cheerful continue to ask me to pose for pictures. WHAT?! The alternate universe of the stake. By the time I was done, my side of the kitchen resembled something like unto fly tape....red and extremely sticky. But the shirley temples and the rest of our dinner were a huge success and now I feel like I may have advanced a rank or two. Another huge weekend. Our last weekend of March was, if you can imagine, crazier than the first two. Friday was spent in prep for a huge baby shower for my friend who will be on bed rest for the next two months. Needless to say, I went overboard. I hand dipped 50 strawberries which were beautiful, and was blessed to use my Mom's crystal serving ware...Love you Mom! Next week is looking a lot more low key, I am hosting another shower, but not involved in planning and all. Sorry for the novel, but I haven't been able to sit down and get it out a little at a time this month. Love to all! P.S. It won't let me add pictures.

Holy crap! I would have pooped my pants after the Kennedi/Klare scare. Glad you all made it through. That's awesome that you were able to do a much needed service as a couple.

That is the worst feeling in the whole world, to think you may lose your child! I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. It just makes you want to hold them from then on. But sounds like you have been super busy!!
