This picture pretty well sums up how Kennedi's first week of Kindergarten has gone. I tried EVERYTHING to easy her mind, but she was sure she would rather be at home with me continuing our summer. I twirled her hair the night before I took this picture, but even that backfired. ;0)

Not to worry! There are angels among us! And they come in the form of Grandma's! Kitty Grandma came up on Saturday, (Grandpa was at the temple) and conducted a fun cooking class for the girls and a fun shopping trip for me! Thank you! Thank you!

It was our genius Grandma that suggested a star chart to help improve attitude. Kennedi has wanted to sign up for ice skating lessons for some time now. I instructed her to draw a picture of herself ice skating with 5 stars on the picture. Each day when I drop her off at school, if she chooses to have a good attitude, she earns a star. When she has earned all 5 stars, we will sign her up for skating. It works! Hallelujah! Two days down....three to go! Thanks, Mom!

Oh my gosh! That first picture is priceless! I busted up laughing! I'm so glad you found a solution that makes it a little easier for Kennedi to leave you! How nice to have Mom so close! That ice skating picture is so cute! I like the trick she is doing with her leg!
I love the curls!!! Too bad Kennedi didn't. I had tons of fun shopping and making apples with the girls! And the idea to have Kennedi make her own chart was great! Hope she keeps up her good attitude! Hugs and kisses from Grandma!
grandma's are great for moments like that.
this song is PERFECT, as usual!! that pic is high-larious. the look on her face is the icing on the cake. i'm so glad mom's solution is working for her! that is a fabulous idea!
Rylee was having a really hard time after we moved and she started full day kindergarten. She really wasn't herself and had a terrible attitude at school. We did a chart and it worked wonders! Good luck -- she'll learn to love it.
i love that pic. speaks a millions words.
That picture of Kennedi reminds me of curley Sue! Way to go with the creative ideas. Tell Kennedi she's not alone with her kindergarten blues. Tell her they had to pull me away from Mom a few times, and after one of those episodes I laid on the gym floor sobbing in front of my whole class.
I just love this post! I love the contrast between the look on her face in the first picture and then the look on her face when Grandma came and made it all better! :) So sweet!!
