I'm In Love!

Now that we are past the post summer blues, and Kennedi is running into her classroom unassisted (WOO-HOO!), we are LOVING school! There is something about bright orange school buses with steamed up windows against a dark gray sky; little rosy cheeked cherubs running through mud puddles in their rubber boots; the way the smell of bread baking for the hot lunches fills the colorful hallways; and the undeniable excitement that learning is taking place and friendships are forming....sigh! I was able to help in Kennedi's class for the first time this week, and it was such a blast! (Mom, when I become a millionaire I will buy you a private jet for your many commutes!) The kids are so hilarious and smart! And so friendly and helpful to each other! Kennedi has been invited to her first birthday party of the year (for a BOY, and the beautiful thing is that at this age, it is still okay to be friends!), and has a field trip to the pumpkin patch coming up! I have signed up to be the garden coordinator for the PTA, our school has three gardens!!! We feel truly blessed to live in a country and state with such accessible, exciting education available to all!

I know just how you feel about working in your child's classroom! It is so fun to see them in that environment, see how they interact with all the other kids, and see how they are with their teacher! In high school I wanted to be a kindergarten teacher and even did a report on that as a career. My mom saved the report and I saw it recently! Even though I didn't become one, I guess I sort of ended up in the kid business anyway! And a jet would be great, I could just fly over all that traffic and laugh! Maybe someday!

Ahhh...my heart melted reading your description of "back to school" what a magical time!!! I am totally missing the PNW! How fun for Kennedi to go to her first birthday party, those were always SO fun and gave you so much to look forward to! Plus the pumpkin patch field trip! SO FUN! I think I was sick the day my class went! :( That's so cool the school has gardens, what a perfect thing for you to be involved in!
